2011 Pollen Research Coordination Network Meeting

The Research Coordination Network (RCN) on Integrative Pollen Biology held its Annual Group Meeting Aug 5 - 6, 2011 in Minneapolis in advance of the annual ASPB Plant Biology meeting.

The meeting featured invited talks (30 minutes) and shorter talks (10 minutes) from more than 20 speakers. The presentations covered diverse aspects of pollen biology, including cell wall structure, pollen tube cell wall expansion, transcriptional regulation, and pollen tube modeling.

On Friday, we discussed modeling cellular dynamics and how modeling techniques can shed light on cellular processes underlying germination, pollen tube growth, and fertilization.
